How ReleaseNames works
ReleaseNames is a managed acquisition service. Users may submit interest in a domain, but they do not receive direct access to registry systems.
Manual review
The request is reviewed before being accepted for monitoring.
Monitoring
If accepted, the domain is monitored until its expected release period.
Acquisition attempt
If the domain becomes available, the ReleaseNames operator may attempt to acquire it.
Operator registration
Successful acquisitions are initially registered in the name of the ReleaseNames operator.
Transfer discussion
The requester is contacted to discuss price, payment and transfer arrangements.
